Abstract
Digital knowledge has developed as a vital component of higher education, particularly in the wake of technological advancements and disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. However, universities in Kiambu County, Kenya, face significant challenges in implementing effective digital learning systems. The study aims to identify and analyze these challenges, focusing on technical challenges, financial constraints, and content coverage and deleverage. This will be through questionnaire interviews to gather information from the institutional university students, lecturers, and IT staff in selected universities in Kiambu County. Major findings suggest that insufficient internet access, restricted availability of digital devices, and insufficient training for educators are major barriers to successful digital learning implementation. The research underscores the need for target interventions, including investment in digital infrastructure capacity-building programs and inclusive policy frameworks to enhance digital learning in higher education. These findings provide a foundation for policymakers and university administrators to address the digital gap and improve education quality in Kiambu County
