dc.description.abstract The issue of missing marks has been a prevalent issue not only in Gretsa University but in most Kenyan universities and colleges, it has significant implications for students affected and also the institution. The issue of missing marks occurs when the marks for students CATs or examinations are lost or not recorded implying that the student has to re-do the exam or repeat the whole unit another semester when it is offered. These has led to delayed graduation to students, affected motivation, GPA and also the student’s mental wellness, it also damages the image of the institution. Therefore, it was found to be important to carry out this study to explore the effects of missing marks to students and therefore try to find solution to the same problem, the study found how students are affected and thus gave relevant recommendations to students and the institution on how to address the issue. The findings reveal that delays and staffing shortages contributed to delays in marks recording and concluded that missing marks have adverse effects impacting their performance and well-being. It is recommended that the school should enhance lecturer accountability and upgrade IT infrastructure. The study used Interviews and questionnaires to collect data from the students and lecturers. Thematic analysis was used to analyze data and ethical and logistical consideration was observed throughout the study. The findings from the study were used as basic data on the effects of missing marks on the students at Gretsa University, Kiambu County. en_US
