dc.description.abstract This research aimed to determine the impact of parental involvement on student academic performance in public mixed day secondary school in Bahati sub-county, Nakuru County. Parents plays a crucial role in development of a child’s life. Numerous research shows there exist a positive correlation between parent involvement and student academic performance. Various scholars have arrived at diverse results and conclusions regarding the connection between parental engagement and academic performance, based on different manifestations of parental participation. Some have even asserted that there exists no discernible correlation between parental involvement and academic achievement. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of parental involvement on student academic performance in public mixed day secondary school in bahati sub-county, Nakuru County, Kenya. Specific objectives are: to determine the impact of parenting on student academic performance, to determine the impact of learning at home on student performance and lastly is to determine the impact of parental participation in school activities on student academic performance in public mixed day secondary school in bahati sub- county, Nakuru county. The targeted population for this study included 1200 students. The sample size was 360 form three students. The researcher used a simple random sampling technique. The study was based on Epstein theory and it will utilize a descriptive research approach. The collection of data was done using questionnaires. The collected data was analyzed using (SPSS) statistical package for social sciences version 28. The findings indicate that parental involvement significantly impacts student academic performance in Bahati Sub County. Authoritative parenting, conducive home learning environments, and active participation in school activities are key factors in improving academic outcomes. The study underscores the importance of holistic parental engagement in a child's education to foster better academic achievements. en_US
