dc.description.abstract The increasing number of students enrolling for secondary education is a force pulling many countries including Kenya. The hundred percent transition from primary to public secondary school aims at giving all children an opportunity to access secondary education and it also creates an informed citizenry within the country. The study aims to explore the effects of the hundred percent transition from primary to public secondary schools on student's academic performance in Kisumu west. The study also aims to find out if availability of learning resources, number of students in classes and student teacher ratio has no effect on student's academic performance. The study will use questionnaires to collect data from various public secondary school principals, teachers, students and parents. Percentage and Frequency distribution tables will be used when analysis of the collected data will be done. Tables and graphs will be used to summarize and present the collected data for easy understanding. SPSS (statistical package for social sciences) will be used in analyzing the data in the computer. en_US
