Abstract:
The study sought to investigate the factors that effects employee performance on hospitality
growth. Its specific objectives were to determine the effect of motivational level on
employee performance, to establish the effects of employee morale and attitude on employee
performance, to determine the effects of training culture on employee performance and to
assess the effects of career mentoring on employee performance. The findings will be used to
correct situations that causes underperformance among the employees as reviewed in the
literature and statement of problem. The study adopted descriptive research design and a
case study, where primary data was used from employee response in questionnaires. The
target population comprises 22 employees from four selected hostels as follows; Sportsman
arms hotel 5, Falcon hotel 6, Royal cottage 5 and Mt Kenya safari club 6. The study uses
census sampling method where all participants were include in the study since it was
manageable. Primary data was collected by the use of questionnaire administered to the
participants. The findings were analyzed by the use of SPSS where percentages and
frequencies were generated to draw the conclusion of the study
